Worthless Joke

True story. In my mid-20s I was thinking about killing myself. I called my grandparents and told them that I felt worthless.

Keen to my morbid sense of humor, my grandfather knew just how to snap me out of it: “Whadaya mean, worthless? We’ve invested a lotta money in you!”
