Valet Log: 081311 — To Boldly Stay Where All Have Gone Before
Taste In Music
When I park cars for black people or young women of any color, and they’re not listening to hip-hop; or Hispanic people who aren’t listening to Mariachi; or middle-aged white guys who aren’t listening to classic rock; or old people who aren’t listening to NPR or classical music . . . then I think that there just might be hope for humanity.
But in a year, it’s happened maybe 10 times out of 1000s. That’s .1%. So . . . when it comes to taste in music, most people, it seems, boldly stay where all have gone before.
